This means you too can prophesy, and you can begin right now!” were Pastor Chris’ conclusive words in today’s devotional.

Does this mean that everyone is qualified to prophesy? How then can one receive the gift of prophecy? And when can we say it is appropriate to prophesy?

You’re responsible for the things that happen in your life, your environment and in your world as a whole. God has made you a priest unto him. Revelation 1:6 says “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

You’ve been given the ministry of priesthood and thus, nothing in your life or around you should happen by accident. So don’t expect God to make things happen, rather make things happen through your prayers.

When you take up the responsibility of prayer, nothing happens that you’re not aware of because they’ve already been settled on your knees. Can God trust you to take up this responsibility today?

Why should one pray constantly?

Must we pray again during the week after praying in church on Sunday? Can’t we just cover the whole week in one prayer point and get it over with?

Doesn’t constant prayer amount to us always having to remind God about our prayer points? Is this necessary?

A wealthy-prominent man had a large empire. He controlled a lot of power in high places of authority and his name any where mentioned, was highly respected. Thus, his son knew exactly how to take advantage of his father’s name; always bragging ‘I am the son of the most prominent man in the world and I come in his name!’ This paid well for him because each time he mentioned his father’s name at the quarters of power, all of his demands were granted in a hurry. His father’s name was his legal right!

Can you imagine this? If a mere man’s name possessed so much influence, authority and power, have you ever thought of the efficacy in the name of Jesus? The scripture says in Philippians 2:10 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth”; every thing responds quickly to the name of Jesus.

“Jesus has given us the legal right to use His Name” Pastor Chris declared in today’s devotional. Therefore, like the child of the maker of the universe whom you are, always use the name of Jesus; go in his name!

Today’s devotional brings to mind a five-chaptered book written by Pastor Chris “Praying The Right Way” where he expounds on specific points on prayer. There is a sure way to pray and get results. If you’ve always wondered why your prayers are not being answered and things aren’t working right for you, well it’s time to realize the importance of praying by the rules!

“There are different kinds of prayers that we ought to pray in different situations, and they all have different rules, laws or principles that must be applied for them to be effective… These different kinds of prayer require faith for them to be effective, but the Scriptures show us there's also a definite prayer of faith with its own guiding principles” Pastor Chris said in today’s devotional.

Make up your mind today to learn how to ‘pray by the rules’ by studying God’s Word. The book “Praying The Right Way” will also give you a sure guide to pray rightly by the rules. Shun ignorance today and go for the Word!

Your relationship with God shouldn’t be compared to that of a mere man. He doesn’t lack the ability to keep to His words; neither is He an unstable being. God’s personality is described in Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

This should be an assurance for you! Whenever you kneel to pray, asking God for anything, He’s willing to answer. He doesn’t need those follow-up strategies that you’ve laid up to consistently remind Him to do what you’ve asked, neither does He want you doubting in your heart if he’ll answer your prayers or not.

Pastor Anita in today’s devotional says “There's no use praying, if you don't expect God to answer. God asked us to pray because He wants to answer.” Recognize that you should always pray with this consciousness and without doubt in your heart. What’s that desire in your heart today? Get on your knees right now and pray to God about it. There’s an answer for you!

"For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts" (Mal 4:1-3).

The greater light shines during the day and one of the synonyms of "day" is "heat". In 2010, the heat will be so great that it will burn the ungodly. But for you, you will know no heat because you live in the greater light that governs the day.

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit" (Jer 17:7-8).
